The iPhone Mute Switch
First of all, I agree with Andy Ihnatko; there must be a setting to modify the behavior of the iPhone mute switch. However, most users will stay with the default. It is important that the mute switch default causes the least confusion and disrupts the fewest Mahler Symphonies possible. As it is, I think it does.
Gruber and Ihnatko have devised two different methods for this switch. Gruber: The...
My Letter to Senators Brown and Kerry
Dear Senator,
I am very concerned. PIPA has the potential to scar the internet as we know it. The Internet encompasses the purest form of communication and information ever known to man. It thrives on the creation, modification, and distribution of ideas. It is and has to be inherently free. To be frank, I believe the internet is one of humanity’s most valuable resources. It promotes...
CES: Catching up with Apple
I don’t think there can be any argument. Apple drives CES more than any other company. The last few shows have revolved around technologies that Apple has either already released or is expected to release.

Kin
While Apple is successfully bridging the gap between smartphones and laptops. Microsoft is trying to bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones with their Kin phones. I haven’t tried the phones yet, but I like the idea. The phone can access Facebook, Twitter etc. and has some other (limited) smartphone capabilities. This is perfect phone concept for teenagers, and could be a big...

gecko profile ICE Review
My opinion of iPod cases has never been very high. I don’t like the added bulk and the lack of style they bring to my iPod. Today I bought a slimline polycarbonate case for my iPod touch and its working out pretty well. It was made by an Australian company called Gecko, who I saw exhibiting at CES. The case itself is surprisingly slim and sturdy, and barely noticeable on the back of my iPod...
CES is coming to a close and the mood has come down a few pegs, but we’re still here exploring the many exhibits.
